Gender sensitive film fest launched in Munti

The 2nd Muntinlupa Student Film Festival gala night highlighted works of student filmmakers on gender equality last February 21 held at Haribon Auditorium, Insular Life, Alabang, Muntinlupa.

This year's competition aimed to inspire positive change, create awareness on gender sensitivity, and empower women rights.

Gender and Development Office of Muntinlupa, together with the Office of Congressman Rodolfo “Pong” Biazon and local government of Muntinlupa spearheaded the event in its thrust to transform nurturing environment that cares for everyone regardless of sexual category through film.

GAD-Muntinlupa executive director Trina Biazon said films and other works of the participants will serve as an inspiration to the local government in developing programs and services that eliminates gender biases facilitating equal opportunities for growth.

Manila Vice-Mayor Isko Moreno graced the event and lauded the local government in putting up creative avenues that both cater the talents of Muntinlupeños while strengthening gender sensitive programs.

Moreno encouraged student filmmakers to continue producing work of arts for a great cause as he was also product of the film industry.

Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi congratulated all the students who participated in the film festival and recognized the continued support of university administrators.

GAD Office awarded films and advertising materials that best stood among others and well interpreted the local government’s commitment for an inclusive development for all.
