Gender sensitive film fest launched in Munti



The 2nd Muntinlupa Student Film Festival gala night highlighted works of student filmmakers on gender equality last February 21 held at Haribon Auditorium, Insular Life, Alabang, Muntinlupa.

This year's competition aimed to inspire positive change, create awareness on gender sensitivity, and empower women rights.

Gender and Development Office of Muntinlupa, together with the Office of Congressman Rodolfo “Pong” Biazon and local government of Muntinlupa spearheaded the event in its thrust to transform nurturing environment that cares for everyone regardless of sexual category through film.

GAD-Muntinlupa executive director Trina Biazon said films and other works of the participants will serve as an inspiration to the local government in developing programs and services that eliminates gender biases facilitating equal opportunities for growth.

Manila Vice-Mayor Isko Moreno graced the event and lauded the local government in putting up creative avenues that both cater the talents of Muntinlupeños while strengthening gender sensitive programs.

Moreno encouraged student filmmakers to continue producing work of arts for a great cause as he was also product of the film industry.

Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi congratulated all the students who participated in the film festival and recognized the continued support of university administrators.

GAD Office awarded films and advertising materials that best stood among others and well interpreted the local government’s commitment for an inclusive development for all.

The City Government seeks to put the winning material in a wider platform for viewing like last year’s Yan ang tama, ‘yan ang Muntinlupa music video winner which is being played on local cinemas.

Nakawan, Huli ng P.O.S.O.


Dalawang magkahiwalay na insidente ng pagnanakaw ang tinutukan ng Public Order and Safety Office (P.O.S.O.) noong Pebrero 2, 2015.

Nahuling nagnanakaw ang tatlong suspek na nagpupuslit ng mga assorted Merchandise sa Tita Las General Merchandise sa Barangay Poblacion, Muntinlupa City, ipinaalam sa tanggapan ng POSO ang mismong pangyayari, kaya’t kaagad silang umaksyon.

Ang tatlong suspek na sina Jobert Cardente 20 years old, Lou Dela Cruz 23 years old at James Calixto 20 years old, ay ang mismong mga helper ng nasabing tindahan. Ang mga nakumpiskang mga ibidensya ay dinala sa kanilang tanggapan para sa karagdagang imbestigasyon.

Samantala arestado din sa salang pagnanakaw ng Mountain Bike si Adrian Pablo y Eusebio, 36 years old matapos mahuli ito habang ginagawa ang pagnanakaw sa Bayanan Public Market. Mabuti na lamang at naroon sina Cristito Veluz, Saturnino Unlayao at Danilo Matera ang mga naka-dutyng traffic enforcers sa mga oras na iyon.


Ang mga nahuling suspek ay sumailalim sa medical examination at sa masmasusing imbestigasyon para sa mga kasong maaring isampa laban sa kanila.

Dalawa sa Most Wanted Persons of Muntinlupa City Police Station, Arestado!


Arestado ang dalawa sa Most Wanted Persons sa listahan ng Muntinlupa City Police Station matapos mahuli sa dalawang magkahiwalay na operasyon na isinagawa ng nasabing tanggapan noong January 29, 2015.

Nakumpiska ang siyam na transparent plastic sachets na naglalaman ng white crystalline substance o hinihinalang “shabu” kay Benito Aniel y Mapili alyas “Beny” 48 years old, sa Esporlas Compound, Upper Putatan, Barangay Putatan, Muntinupa City noong January 29, 2015 dakong 3:30 ng hapon.

Matapos makatanggap ang Muntinlupa Station Anti-Illegal Drugs-Special Task Group mula sa kanilang intelligence section sa kinaroroonan ng suspek agad nila itong pinuntahan sa bisa ng inihain sa kanyang Warrant of Arrest for Violation of Robbery in Band ni Acting Presiding Judge Romulo SG Villanueva ng RTC – Branch 276, Muntinlupa City.

Ang nasakoteng suspek ay ikatlo sa listahan ng Muntinupa City Police Station Most Wanted Person.

Samantala, Kasunod ng pagkakaaresto kay Beny, pinamunuan ni SPO4 Alejandro Nemis ang pagdakip sa  sa ika-pito sa listahan ng Most Wanted Person sa lungsod na si Joseph Aguilar y Manuel, 30 years old, tubong pasay na kasalukuyang naninirahan sa Bunyi Compound Barangay Cupang Muntinlupa City, sa bisa ng Warrant of Arrest na inihain sa kanya ng RTC – Branch 206 na nilagdaan ni Judge Patria A. Manalastas –De Leon, sa salang Roberry (Hold-Up) at Serious Physical Injuries.

Si Manuel ay nakapiit ngayon sa Temporary Dentention Cell ng Muntinlupa City Police Station, habang hinihintay ang Commitment Order mula sa Korte.


Ang buong pwersa ng Peace and Order cluster ng pamahalaang lungsod ay tinitiyak na ang masasamang loob sa lungsod ay hindi makakalusot sa pinalakas na programa ni Muntinlupa City Mayor Atty. Jaime R. Fresnedi.
