Munti launches Muntilupa Care Card for locals

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi introduced the Muntinlupa Care Card, a central smart card that can be used to access various programs and services, during the city’s flag raising rites, Monday morning.
“This care card hopes to deliver every program of the local government to every member of Muntinlupeño family,” Fresnedi said.
Grace Salvador, representative of Muntinlupa People’s Coordinating Office, said that Muntinlupa’s health card pioneers in using smart card technology among local government units in the country.
She explained the health card contains cutting edge features which can hold multiple data and can be tapped or swiped into card readers to avail government’s services and programs.
In its pilot launch, card holders have access to trips on Electronic Jeepney Ride for Free (e-JRF), free insurance on fatal accidents, and subsidy on the local health institution, Ospital ng Muntinlupa.
The e-JRF pilot route is from StarmallAlabang to South Station and vice versa.Four e-Jeepneys were blessed together with the new city’s water and towing truck in Muntinlupa’s flag raising rites. Additional four electronic fleets will be supplemented to open up routes in National Road. She said that additional route will serve Persons with Disability and Senior Citizen card holders.
The beneficiaries of Muntinlupa Care Card are also entitled of accidental insurance on motorcycle casualty, paralysis, and death.
Card holders are not only covered with insurance but also funded with financial assistance upon admission to OSMun. They are privileged with fast lane in the hospital and 25-75% subsidy depending on the qualifications of the beneficiary.
Access to KalingangMunti (civic program which they can avail free pet vaccination, free massage, free haircut, free foot spa, free dental services, free optometry services, free circumcision, free birth registration), Community and Development Office programs, scholarships, livelihood and employment services are among the additional privileges that comprise the smart card.

Muntinlupa Care Card has three categories: Red Card (for senior citizens ages 60 and above), Yellow card (for ages 18 – 59), and Blue card (for ages 7 – 17).
To enroll in the service, locals shall complete an application form and present a valid ID card, for the blue card application, the parent or guardian must enroll the minor applicant.
Registration fee is collected for each category: Red card (P60.00), Yellow card (P80.00), and Blue card (P75.00). Renewal fee of P20.00 per year will also be solicited to cover up insurance fees.
Senior Citizens and PWDs may be exempted to paying fees upon the acquirement of endorsement letter from Office of the Senior Citizens and Social Services Department, respectively.

Muntinlupa City nakiisa sa Traffic and Transport Management for Philippine CDS Cities Projects Conference

Sa patuloy na pagbibigay ng atensyon at masusing pag-aaral tungkol sa mas-maayos na mga programa sa trapiko, ang pamahalaang Lungsod ng Muntinlupa sa mabuting pamumuno ni Mayor Atty. Jaime R. Fresnedi, ay  naki-isa kasama ang iba’t ibang lokal na pamahalaan at mga ahensya ng iba’t ibang sector sa naganap na pagtalakay sa Traffic and Transport  Management for Philippine CDS Cities Project.
Noong March 16, 2015, sa pamamagitan ng tanggapan ng Muntinlupa Traffic Management Bureau na dinaluhan ni Mr. Roberto Castro – Head of Education and Training Division, naganap ang nasabing programa na may temang “From Plans to Progress: The Local Government Units’ Quest for Environmentally Sustainable Transport”, na sinuportahan naman ng Cities Alliance at ng World Bank and Almec Corporation, sa Sequoia Hotel, Mother Ignacia St. Cor. Timog  Ave., Quezon City.
Si Dr. Ka Feng na nagmula pa sa China na isang Lead Transport Specialist, ang  naging Keynote Speaker at tinalakay ang Communicating reforms and changing mindsets in the transport sector”.
Ang Muntinlupa ay kabahagi ng League of the Cities of the Philippines na naglalayong mas-mapabuti ang mga programa at serbisyong hatid ng ating pamahalaan sa ating mga mamayanan.

Hindi lamang sa pagpaplano tumitigil ang ating pamahalaan lungsod, bagkus ang mga planong ito ay unti-unti ng naisasakatuparan tungo sa mas-maunlad na lungsod.

Muntinlupa gives cash Gifts to Graduating Studes

12,536 public students of graduating class 2015 in Muntinlupa will receive recognition they deserve with cash incentives and subsidized graduation rites.

The City Government, through Muntinlupa Scholarship Program, gives premium cash gifts to each schools’ top performing students. With this, 268 has completed elementary and secondary level with flying colors.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi said that the local government allocates 1.658 million pesos to reward and affirm the students who excelled in their academics with their dedication and hard work for hurdling the entire level of education.

Fresnedi announced that high school valedictorians and salutatorians will receive P10,000 and P7,000 respectively, while 1st to 8th Honorable Mention will receive P5,000 cash gifts.
He also said that elementary valedictorians and salutatorians will receive P5,000 and P4,000 respectively, while 1st to 8th Honorable Mention will receive P3,000.

The local chief also extends P5,000 financial assistance to all graduating students who will enroll in colleges to pursue tertiary education and even for students who choose the technical-vocational track. A reimbursement course will be processed upon fulfillment of requirements.

On top off the cash gifts to the city’s crème de la crème and vouchers to universities and technical-vocational schools enrollees, the local government also allocated 1.6 million pesos subsidy for all commencement exercises activities.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi funded graduation rites fees including togas, diplomas, medals, venue, photo booth and other requirements. This will relieve parents from additional expenses for providing a decent ceremony for their graduating children.


Fresnedi administration continues to support constituents in education, equipping students to serve as catalyst in the city’s development.

Muntinlupa Commended at World Summit in Singapore

Muntinlupa City Mayor Atty. Jaime R. Fresnedi presents the case study on competitively driving investment in the city on a round table discussion with Mayors from Quemeline, Melbourne, and Putrajaya, Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos and moderator during his conference in Singapore, World Cities Summit. Driving Investments in Competitive Economy and the Muntinlupa BOSS was incendiary and has become the most talked about among the case presented by the delegates.

The Muntinlupa case study has become the most talked about among the case studies presented by the delegates in the round table discussion on competitive Economy: Driving Investments. Mayor Manuel de Araujo, Phd of Quemeline Municipality, Mozambique, whose initiative was recognized in Southern Africa for reducing their 32-week turnaround time in business permit processing to a few weeks was impressed of the Muntinlupa BOSS and expresses intentions of bench marking it.

Mayor Rober Doyle of Melbourne acknowledge that Muntinlupa's Turnaround time processing business permits is faster than Melbourne's which is one of the world's competitive cities.

Assistant Director General Dr. Aizi Razman Ismail of Federal Territory of Putrajaya, Malaysia also commended the Muntinlupa BOSS.

The moderator, an academic from the National University of Singapore, wrapped up discussion affirming the initiative of Muntinlupeños as one of the critical drivers of investments.

DILG: Munti LGU exhibits good financial management

The local government of Muntinlupa proves locals that public resources are being well taken care of the administration.

Department of the Interior and Local Government awarded the Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) component of the Seal of Good Local Governance to Muntinlupa City after passing the assessment for CY 2014 last February 25.

The criteria of the GFH component of the SGLG are the 2013 COA Opinion and compliance with the 1st Quarter Full Disclosure Policy Posting and 3 Conspicuous Places.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi, in his eight-point program, commits to deliver accountability and transparency to the transactions of the City Government.

Fresnedi administration thrust to post the local government’s operation and other breakdown in the Full Disclosure Bulletin Boards installed in noticeable places in the city, three of which are in the Muntinlupa City Hall.

The Local Chief will continue to uphold local governance service as the City Government gets full swing in the re-certification of ISO Quality Management System.

One of Muntinlupa’s current undertakings is the attainment of the international standard to upgrade and to raise the bar high for public service.

Fresnedi says citation from national agencies will compel the local government to augment and improve efforts towards good local governance, transparency, and good financial management.
